I met Jo coincidentally through my neighbor, who referred her to me to make a head wrap. She reached out to me the other month to take some headshots for her website and promotional materials and we just finished a second sunrise yoga session the other week. Jo has authored a book on how to be resilient after traumatic experiences called, Conquer Trauma Drama: Get Your Life Back. You can visit her website and read more about the organization it supports here:
With a cup of coffee in hand, we headed out East to baby Makapu'u to capture some photos in the stunning morning sun. Isn't it beautiful? We wanted this session to capture the beauty of the light, along with the serenity within her mind and movement. I think we nailed it! Every time I have a session I learn more about fine-tuning my style and also more about the technical aspects of photography. This time was no different as I saw myself get better at focusing directly into the sunlight and posing my subject so that the light was complementary. Maybe it was the yoga-ish theme of our session, but I was able to relax, focus and take my time with each pose and picture.
